Picking one
For large-scale historical or mythological spectacle, start with Baahubali 2, RRR or Kalki 2898 AD. For crime and gangster stories, K.G.F: Chapter 2, Vikram and Pushpa 2 are the closest matches. For something rooted in a regional tradition, Kantara is the clearest example, and Thangalaan blends period adventure with folklore. Several of these are sequels or part of a franchise, so check whether an earlier film is needed first.
