Marvel’s VisionQuest is the Disney+ series that continues Paul Bettany’s Vision story after WandaVision. It premiered on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, has eight episodes, and as of the latest reporting is due to finish on November 10. Episode 7, titled “Immolation, is the penultimate episode, so viewers are one week from the end of the season. This is the VisionQuest release schedule, cast and story setup as reported so far.
Release schedule
TheWrap reports that the series premiered on October 13, a day earlier than first announced, at 6 p.m. PT or 9 p.m. ET. Two episodes were released each Tuesday, except for the last two, which each get their own release. TheWrap says the series wraps on November 10 “as of the article’s writing. It does not print a date for every episode, so the weekly dates between the premiere and the finale are inferred from that pattern rather than stated. Dates have shifted once already, and some pages list the premiere as October 14, so check Disney+ for the final schedule.
The story so far
According to TV Insider, the story follows White Vision, played by Paul Bettany, as he searches for his lost memories and humanity after the events of WandaVision. He goes on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be the reincarnation of Vision’s son. Vision’s programming still holds AI personalities, including Ultron. The show is described as the final chapter of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along.

TVLine’s explainer on Episode 7 adds that the episode follows Vision, rebuilt by SWORD, as he searches his own code for a soul he feels he has lost. That search leads to memories of Dr. Phineas Horton, who built JIM, a synthezoid modeled on his deceased son, tying into the season’s theme of strained father and son relationships.
Cast
TV Insider lists these main players:
- Paul Bettany as White Vision;
- James Spader as Ultron, shown as a bearded, bespectacled human avatar inside Vision’s mind-space;
- Todd Stashwick as Paladin, a masked mercenary hunting Vision for a bounty;
- Ruaridh Mollica as the grown-up Tommy Maximoff, replacing Jett Klyne.
Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, T’Nia Miller, Faran Tahir and Lauren Morais are also listed, though the page does not say which roles they play. TVLine’s coverage also notes that Bettany appears in the Horton flashbacks as Phineas Horton and as the Human Torch’s likeness.
Who is behind it
Terry Matalas is the showrunner and an executive producer, with Kevin Feige and Jac Schaeffer, also credited as executive producers. It is a Marvel Studios production for Disney+. The sources describe it as a miniseries, and none of them mentions a second season.
Trailers
Marvel released its first official trailer at D23, and TV Insider says a later trailer introduced Paladin and showed Vision’s search for the truth, his relationship with Thomas and the people trying to capture him.
What we do not know
- The exact release date of each remaining episode is not printed in the sources we read; only the November 10 finale date is reported, and it carries a caveat.
- The sources disagree on a few details, including the original premiere date (October 13 versus October 14), so treat Disney+ as the final word.
- Nothing in the coverage says what the ending will lead to, or whether Marvel has plans for further Vision stories.
Anyone catching up can watch from Episode 1 on Disney+; the series is meant as a sequel to WandaVision and, per TV Insider, a continuation of the trilogy that includes Agatha All Along.
