The movie based on the popular video games already has Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Hart on board.
Lionsgate has high expectations for Borderlands. The film adaptation of these Gearbox video games seeks to establish distance with other films inspired by this medium that has had no luck even between critics and the public, to faithfully emulate both this post-apocalyptic world and the inexhaustible sense of humor (black) of its characters. In recent weeks we learned that Borderlands had cast Cate Blanchett as Lilith and Jack Black as the Claptrap robot (assuming a new collaboration by director Eli Roth with both actors behind The House with the Clock on the Wall ), and now The Hollywood Reporter echoes of a new addition.
This is Haley Bennett, an American actress very much in vogue in recent times thanks to films like The Devil at All Hours and the Golden Globe ( and Razzie ) nominee Hillbilly, a rural elegy. In our country, she recently released the psychological thriller Swallow (available on Movistar +) and, before being recruited by Roth and Lionsgate, she had already confirmed her participation in a new adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac by Joe Wright, with Peter Dinklage in the title role. In Borderlands, she will play a character closely linked to Lilith’s past.
The film also casts Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Hart as Roland and Tannis, respectively. Another important name of the production is that of Craig Mazin in charge of the script, who was in charge of writing the acclaimed Chernobyl and is currently working on another video game adaptation: The Last of Us , which would become a series within the framework of HBO . Borderlands has no release date yet.
